The award ceremony of the 4th Oriental Cup Chinese Character and Calligraphy Competition for Foreigners was held at the Oriental Art Museum in Shenzhen on December 26. The activity was sponsored by the Publicity Department of Futian District Committee of the Communist Party of China, funded by the special fund for the promotion of Cultural and sports undertakings in Futian District, guided by the Foreign Affairs Office of Futian District, undertook by Shenzhen Oriental Art Museum, and co-organized by Shenzhen Calligrapher's Association. It aims to open a journey of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, provide a stage for foreign friends to learn, exchange and display Chinese calligraphy skills, so that more foreigners can feel the essence of Chinese calligraphy, experience the charm of Chinese national essence, and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries by using "Chinese characters" as the medium. The College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) won the special Contribution award, and five international students from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) won the excellence Award.

On November 29th, The College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) organized the 4th "Oriental Cup" Foreign Chinese Character Calligraphy Competition in the fine arts classroom of the Fourth teaching Building of China University of Petroleum (Beijing). From, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Libya, Pakistan and other 15 countries a total of 52 international students took part in the calligraphy salon activity, Mr. Liu Fengyu, member of China Petroleum Calligrapher's Association, and Mr. Jiang Peixiu, winner of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) Calligraphy Competition, are specially invited to the salon to guide students' creation. Previously, in order to cultivate students' interest in calligraphy, improve their calligraphy appreciation and creation ability, and expand the path for students to deeply perceive Traditional Chinese culture, the CUPB College of International Education has also actively cooperated with the Student Calligraphy Association, organizing volunteers to teach calligraphy knowledge to international students regularly. China University of Petroleum (Beijing) submitted at all 71 calligraphy works to the competition organizing committee.
